STS Chapter Meetings and Events
Suggestions for Topics, Presentations or Activities
The task of identifying interesting, entertaining or informative topics or events for Chapter programs can sometimes be difficult. The purpose of this database is to provide examples of the experiences of some Chapters along with suggestions as to events and/or presentation topics that might be attractive to Chapter members. The database is divided into two parts. The first is a ClearingHouse of presentations, activities and events organized by a number of Chapters in the past. The second part is a list of suggested topics and activities that could be considered for Chapter meetings or events. If you wish to obtain information or clarification on either of these parts of the database, please get in touch with the Chair of the Support Services Committee, Calvin Bachmeier at c.bachmeier@sasktel.net or 306-328-3804 in Leader.
This database should be considered as only suggestive of ideas. It certainly is not comprehensive or complete by any means. The reader may indeed find the lists stimulate the pursuit of other topics or activities not included here. Similarly, the STS encourages Chapters to submit their own experiences or ideas of topics or activities they have successfully tried and which other Chapters might wish to use. As a result, the database is expected to be in a state of constant change as new information becomes available. Suggestions can be submitted to the STS office at 306-373-3879 or by e-mail sts@stf.sk.ca.
While the database can be useful to individual Chapters, many of the experiences or suggestions are amenable to being used by more than one Chapter at a time. Neighbouring Chapters may conclude that combining to organize some of these suggestions may make the task easier, spread costs or increase their scope and be more feasible given their nature.
